Timeless Maternity Portraits Designed Around You
Pregnancy is such a special chapter in your family's story, but I know it doesn't always feel glamorous. Many of the moms who contact me from Londonderry tell me they're excited to document this time, but they're also worried they won't know how to pose, aren't feeling confident in their changing body, or simply don't know what to expect from a professional maternity session.
That's exactly why I've created a relaxed, guided experience where you don't have to have any modeling experience or even know where to begin. I'll help you every step of the way, from choosing flattering gowns to gently posing you in a way that feels natural and comfortable.
My private portrait studio in Salem is just a short drive from Londonderry, making it easy for growing families throughout Southern New Hampshire to enjoy a luxury maternity photography experience without traveling far from home. Whether you envision elegant studio portraits or beautiful outdoor images at sunset, we'll create timeless photographs that celebrate this incredible moment before your little one arrives.
Feeling Nervous About Being Photographed? You're Not Alone.
I'm going to guide you through everything.
If you've never had professional portraits taken before, you're in good company. One of the first things I hear from expecting moms is:
"I'm awkward in front of the camera."
"I don't know how to pose."
"I've gained more weight than I expected."
"I'm not photogenic."
The truth is, almost every mom feels this way before her session.
My job isn't simply to take beautiful photographs. It's to help you feel comfortable enough that your personality naturally shines through.
Throughout your maternity session, I'll gently guide every pose, every hand placement, and every expression. You'll never be left wondering what to do next.
Rather than stiff, overly posed images, we'll create portraits that feel relaxed, elegant, and genuinely reflect this exciting chapter in your family's life.
By the end of the session, many clients tell me they were surprised by how easy—and even enjoyable—the experience felt.
If you're wondering what to wear, I also put together a helpful guide on What to Wear for Maternity Photos to help you feel confident before your session.

What Should I Wear?

(And Other Questions I Get All The Time)
"I have nothing to wear that fits or looks good."
Don't stress - I have a gorgeous client wardrobe with maternity gowns and dresses you can borrow! Flowy, flattering, and they photograph beautifully. You can also bring your own outfits if you have something you love.
We'll figure it out together.
"Can my partner/kids be in the photos?"
Absolutely! I love including dad and siblings. These photos are about your growing family, and everyone should be part of that story if you want them there.
"I don't feel beautiful right now."
Oh mama, I understand. Pregnancy is hard on our bodies and our confidence sometimes. But here's what I see: a woman creating life. Your body is doing something incredible right now, and I promise you - we're going to capture that beauty. The right angles, the right light, and a little bit of that pregnancy glow you might not even realize you have? You're going to love these photos.
"What if I can't get comfortable or the posing hurts?"
We work at YOUR pace. If you need to sit, we sit. If standing feels better, we stand. If you need a break, we take a break. I have pillows, stools, and props to help support you. Your comfort matters way more than any photo.
Studio or Outdoor Maternity Photos? Which Is Right for You?
One of the first decisions we'll make together is whether you'd prefer an elegant studio session or an outdoor maternity session. Both create beautiful portraits, and the right choice simply depends on your personal style.
Studio sessions
Comfortable year-round
Private environment
Access to client wardrobe
Controlled professional lighting
No weather concerns
Outdoor sessions
Beautiful golden hour light
Natural landscapes
Flowing dresses in motion
Soft sunset colors
Scenic outdoor locations
If you're looking for timeless, editorial-style portraits with dramatic lighting, the studio is often the perfect choice.
If you love nature, soft sunsets, and a more relaxed outdoor feel, we'll choose one of my favorite Southern New Hampshire locations for your session.

Including Your Partner, Children, and Even Pets
Your maternity session isn't only about your pregnancy—it's about celebrating the family that's growing.
Partners are always encouraged to participate, and if this isn't your first baby, older brothers and sisters often create some of the most meaningful images of the entire session.
I'll guide everyone through natural interactions that feel relaxed rather than overly posed, creating portraits that capture genuine connection and excitement as you prepare to welcome your newest family member.
If you'd like to include your dog, let's talk! Depending on the location and type of session you're planning, pets can often be incorporated into a portion of your maternity portraits.

FAQ

How far in advance should I book?
I recommend booking around your second trimester so we can secure a spot in that ideal 28-34 week window.
But if you're reading this and you're already 32 weeks - don't worry! Reach out anyway. I'll do my best to fit you
in.
How long does the session take?
Plan for about an hour, but we'll take as much time as you need to feel comfortable and get those perfect shots.
What happens after the session?
You'll get an online gallery within one week where you can view, download, and share your photos. We'll also
chat about prints, albums, or wall art if you want to display these beautiful images in your home.
Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes! Maternity sessions make wonderful baby shower gifts. If someone wants to gift you a session, I can set
that up.
Planning Maternity and Newborn Photos Together
Many families choose to reserve both their maternity and newborn sessions at the same time. Not only does it simplify planning, but it also allows us to create a beautiful story that begins during pregnancy and continues after your baby arrives.
Because my schedule fills several months in advance, especially for newborn photography, reserving both sessions during pregnancy provides peace of mind knowing everything is already planned before your baby is born.
