I’m Danielle Bustamante, a mom of three and a professional photographer since 2005. Families from Manchester visit my warm, private studio in Salem for a fully guided newborn experience centered on their baby’s comfort. I provide the wraps, newborn outfits, blankets, props, and styling, while giving you clear direction for parent and sibling portraits.
There is no pressure to make your baby sleep on command or move through a rigid list of poses. We pause for feeding, diaper changes, soothing, and cuddles whenever needed. You can settle in while I guide the session at your baby’s pace.

The Salem studio is kept warm and includes wraps, outfits, blankets, headbands, props, diapers, wipes, and pacifiers. Items and posing surfaces are cleaned between sessions.

What Is Included in a Studio Newborn Session?
Every session is planned around the portraits most important to your family and what your baby is comfortable doing that day. Depending on the session you choose, your photographs may include:
- Wrapped newborn portraits
- Softly posed individual baby portraits
- Simple baskets, bowls, and other supported props
- Close-up photographs of hands, feet, eyelashes, and other tiny details
- Parent and baby portraits
- Sibling and complete family portraits with a full newborn session
A petite session offers a shorter, simpler experience focused primarily on baby in a soft ivory wrap. A full session gives us more time for varied newborn setups along with parent, sibling, and family photographs.

Your Newborn Photography Experience
Reserve Around Your Due Date
Contact me during pregnancy to reserve availability. Your due date acts as a placeholder; we do not need to know the exact session day before your baby arrives.
Plan the Details
You will complete a questionnaire so I can plan colors, styling, family portraits, sibling participation, and meaningful items you may want to include.
Confirm After Baby Arrives
Once your baby is here, we will select the actual appointment date. Newborns are often photographed during the first two to three weeks, but older babies are welcome too.
Relax During the Session
I guide the posing and flow while allowing as many feeding, soothing, and diaper breaks as your baby needs. Full sessions generally last two to three hours.
View Your Proof Gallery
About one week after the session, you will receive a private proofing gallery. You can choose your favorites at home or schedule a Zoom ordering appointment for guidance.
Receive Your Finished Images
Your selected portraits receive detailed, natural retouching before delivery. High-resolution digital files and professionally made artwork are available according to the option you select.

I understand how vulnerable it can feel to hand your brand-new baby to someone else, especially during those early days when you are still finding your rhythm as a family.
My goal is to earn that trust through experience, careful preparation, and a calm approach. I never expect your baby to perform. Awake moments, sleepy stretches, feeding breaks, and extra cuddles are all normal parts of the process.
My photography education includes a bachelor’s degree in Advertising Photography, and my professional experience spans more than two decades. Today, I specialize in creating timeless newborn, maternity, and milestone portraits for families throughout Southern New Hampshire and the Greater Boston area.

Where is the studio located?
Newborn sessions take place at Danielle Bustamante Photography, 89 Stiles Road in Salem, New Hampshire. The studio is near I-93 Exit 2 and serves families from Manchester and communities throughout Southern New Hampshire.
When should I reserve my newborn session?
I recommend reserving during pregnancy so I can hold availability around your due date. Once your baby arrives, we will choose the actual session day. If your baby is already here, contact me as soon as possible to ask about current openings.
How old should my baby be for newborn photos?
Newborn portraits are often created during the first two to three weeks, when many babies are sleepy and naturally curled. Babies do not follow calendars, though, and beautiful portraits can still be created when they are older. I adjust the posing and expectations to your baby’s age and comfort.
How long does a newborn photography session take?
A full newborn session generally lasts two to three hours so there is time for family portraits, several newborn setups, feeding, changing, and soothing without rushing. Petite newborn sessions are shorter and focus on a simpler wrapped setup.
Do I need to bring wraps, outfits, or props?
No. The studio provides newborn wraps, outfits, blankets, headbands, hats, baskets, and props, and each item is cleaned between sessions. You may bring a sentimental object or heirloom, and we can decide whether it can be incorporated safely.
Can parents and siblings be included?
Yes. Parent, sibling, and complete family portraits can be included in a full newborn session. I generally photograph young siblings near the beginning and provide guidance for clothing, positioning, and safely interacting with the baby.
What happens if my baby cries or does not sleep?
That is completely normal. We pause whenever your baby needs to eat, be changed, held, or soothed. I never force a pose, and awake portraits can be just as meaningful as sleeping photographs.
