Yes. Parent, sibling, and family portraits can all be part of a full newborn session.
These photographs are often the ones families appreciate most over time. Years from now, your child will not just see how small they were. They will also see the people who were there holding them.
I typically photograph family and sibling portraits early in the session, especially when toddlers are involved. Younger children usually do best when their portion of the session happens before they become tired or restless.
There is no expectation that a toddler will sit perfectly still or follow complicated directions. We keep sibling photographs simple, safe, and appropriate for the child’s age.
For parents, I provide clear guidance on positioning, where to place your hands, and how to hold your baby naturally. You do not need to know how to pose or worry about figuring it out on your own.

Depending on how your baby settles, this can include softly posed portraits on a cushioned posing surface, photographs in a newborn outfit, and simple images that highlight your baby’s features.
Every pose is adjusted to your baby. If a position is not comfortable or your baby would rather stay wrapped, we move on. A beautiful gallery never requires forcing a baby into a pose.

What If My Baby Cries or Does Not Sleep?
Babies cry. Babies need to eat. Sometimes they prefer being held, and sometimes they are much more interested in looking around than falling asleep.
None of that means your session is going badly.
I have photographed hundreds of newborns, and I do not expect a baby to sleep through an entire appointment or cooperate with a predetermined schedule. When your baby needs a break, we take one.
Awake portraits can be just as meaningful as sleepy portraits, especially when they capture your baby looking toward you or making one of those early, curious expressions.

What Happens After the Newborn Session?
After your session, I carefully review the photographs and prepare a private online proofing gallery.
You will be able to look through your images and choose the portraits you would like to keep. Once your selections are made, I professionally finish the chosen photographs with natural, polished retouching.
